Honey McGee Playhouse is the home of Theatricks, Sherman Community Players youth theatre program. Incorporated in 1950 as a professionally directed, non-profit 501 (c)(3), community theatre, Sherman Community Players (SCP) has continued to garner state-wide attention for its quality season productions, children’s theatre, and educational outreach programs.
Established in 1985, Theatricks, SCP children’s theatre, is comprised of two different aspects: Club Theatricks and Project Theatre. Club Theatricks produces three productions a year and offers three sessions of theatrical workshops, while Project Theatre serves as an educational resource for area schools’ theatre curriculum.
The mission of SCP and Theatricks is the production of quality theatrical entertainment and education in the performing arts. Our programming reach is approximately 40,000 children, parents, and teachers annually.
