The Finley Theater (Finley Cultural Center) was constructed on a tract of land that was donated by Lyndall Finley Wortham, and has been maintained by an endowment from her, as well as with Sherman Service League funds. The League uses the room for monthly meetings and special events for groups and individuals. Located in beautiful downtown Sherman at 500 N. Elm, the Finley is perfect for hosting a shower, party, business meeting, or lunch!
Finley Theatre is also the home to the Sherman Community Players. Since the Little Theatre Movement in the 1920’s, the Sherman Community Players (SCP) has been presenting fine theatrical productions to the North Texas and Southern Oklahoma region. Incorporated in 1950 as a professionally directed, non-profit 501 (c)(3), community theatre, SCP has continued to garner state-wide attention for its quality season productions, children’s theatre, and educational outreach programs.
