Red, White & BOOM Celebration

The Johnston County Red, White & BOOM Celebration is in the works. Festivities will begin on the evening of Friday, July 2nd as we launch the first county-wide Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest from 6-8 p.m. ending at just the right time to make it to Tishomingo for the Vulcan Materials Company Fireworks Show at dark (about 9:20 p.m.) followed by an old-school, red dirt country music street dance sponsored by Ole Red Tishomingo smack dab in the middle of town! We’ll have a parade the morning of the 3rd with activities at Pennington Creek Park the old fashioned way! The Tishomingo Chevrolet Lifted Truck & Car Show will be going on, plus the first Kid’s Powerwheel Races for kids age 3-7 sponsored by Maxey Insurance. There will be water slides, vendor booths, a dunk tank, food trucks, the Little Miss & Mr Firecracker Contest, a volleyball tournament, hot dog and watermelon eating and an apple pie baking contest and more!
We’re looking for local singers that would like to offer a 30-minute or so singing in the park on Saturday!
