Cook with cast iron like the settlers and learn the rich history of the Dutch oven!

The historic art of Dutch oven cooking isn’t “new,” but it can be a new skill you learn and share!

Expect to:

• Learn a little bit about the history of this traditional cookware
• Learn the basics of how to properly care for and use cast iron cookware
• Observe a cooking demonstration
• Sample a dish made by our ranger or volunteer while supplies last

What to bring: 

• Camp chair, water, sunblock, bug spray
• Personal eating utensils (reduce, reuse, recycle!)
